CONSULTATION ✦ TRAINING ✦ SPEAKING *

Better clinical care starts with better clinical thinking.

I provide consultation, training, and speaking for clinicians, healthcare teams, schools, and behavioral health organizations committed to delivering thoughtful, effective, evidence-based care.

HOW I CAN HELP

Helping people do difficult work, better.

I’ve spent much of my career not only treating patients, but teaching, supervising, consulting, and training others. I’ve trained dozens of therapists in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), trained and supervised psychiatry residents, taught graduate social work students, and provided training to teachers and other professionals on trauma, adolescent mental health, emotion regulation, bias awareness, and other mental health topics.

I also work with organizations on the systems behind good clinical care—from therapist training and development to clinical programming, quality, and implementation. My experience leading clinical programs at scale has given me a practical understanding of what it takes to translate evidence-based care into real-world settings. Whether I’m working with one clinician, a school, a clinical team, or an entire organization, I want people to leave with something they can actually use.

TRAINING & SPEAKING

A few examples of what I teach.

Trainings can be tailored to your audience, setting, experience level, and goals. Custom trainings are also available.

Trauma Treatment 101

A practical introduction to trauma and PTSD, including how trauma can affect thoughts, emotions, behavior, relationships, and functioning—and what effective trauma treatment can look like.

Trauma Treatment Decoded

A clear, accessible look at evidence-based trauma treatments: what the major approaches actually do, how they differ, and how clinicians can think more clearly about treatment selection.

Complex Trauma & PTSD

A deeper look at repeated and prolonged trauma, including its impact on emotion regulation, relationships, identity, beliefs, and clinical presentation—and what this can mean for assessment and treatment planning.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

From foundational concepts to hands-on implementation, case conceptualization, treatment fidelity, common clinical challenges, and helping clinicians use the model skillfully with real patients.

Prolonged Exposure (PE)

The principles and clinical application of PE, including trauma-related avoidance, treatment rationale, exposure, common clinician and patient concerns, and thoughtful implementation.

Teaching & Implementing DBT Skills

How to teach—not simply describe—DBT skills, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, and help patients use those skills outside of session.

High-Risk & Complex Clinical Presentations

Clinical thinking around suicidality, self-harm, BPD, intense emotion dysregulation, co-occurring conditions, diagnostic complexity, and treatment that isn't progressing as expected.

Adolescent Mental Health

For clinicians, educators, parents, and other adults supporting adolescents, with attention to emotional and behavioral concerns, trauma, risk, family and school dynamics, and how to respond effectively when a young person is struggling.

Emotion Regulation

How emotions work, why they can become difficult to manage, and strategies for helping people understand, tolerate, and respond more effectively to intense emotional experiences.

Bias Awareness

How assumptions and bias can influence the way we understand behavior, make decisions, and respond to others in clinical, educational, and organizational settings.

Measurement-Based Care

Using standardized measures as clinical tools rather than paperwork to clarify symptoms, monitor progress, inform treatment decisions, and identify when treatment may need to change.

Evidence-Based Treatment Implementation

Helping teams move from saying they provide evidence-based care to creating the conditions clinicians need to deliver it well—including training, fidelity, consultation, measurement, and ongoing clinical support.
