EVIDENCE-BASED ONLINE PSYCHOTHERAPY

Therapy should do more than help you talk about what hurts.

It should help you change what happens next.

YOU KNOW SOMETHING ISN’T WORKING

You don’t have to understand what’s keeping you stuck before you ask for help.

Maybe you're anxious, overwhelmed, constantly on guard, shutting down, avoiding things, struggling in your relationships, or reacting in ways you don't fully understand. Maybe something from your past keeps showing up in your life today—or you simply know you don't feel like yourself.

You don't need to have it figured out. We'll make sense of what's happening, identify what's keeping you stuck, and work together to change it.

The things that helped you survive may be getting in the way of the life you want now.

The ways we learn to protect ourselves often make sense at the time. Avoiding. Staying guarded. Keeping the peace. Pushing through. Trying to control what you can. Disconnecting when things become too much.

But what once helped you cope can eventually come at a cost.

  • You want closeness, but find yourself pulling away or struggling to trust.

  • You want to feel more in control, but your emotions—or the effort it takes to contain them—are exhausting.

  • You want to move forward, but old experiences, beliefs, or survival strategies keep shaping what happens next.

You don't have to keep living around what happened to you.

Meet Lashauna Cutts, LCSW

Nearly 20 years of experience. One clear belief: therapy should help you get better.

I’m an evidence-based psychotherapist specializing in complex trauma, PTSD, emotion regulation, and longstanding patterns that can be difficult to change. My approach is active, structured, compassionate, and direct. I’ll make space for what you’ve been through, but we won’t stop at understanding it. We’ll identify what needs to change and actively work toward it.

My career has included more than a decade treating trauma at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, serving as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, teaching graduate social work, working with adolescents and families, and leading clinical programming, quality, and therapist development as Senior Clinical Director at Nema Health.

Over the course of my career, I’ve treated hundreds of people with PTSD and co-occurring mental health concerns and have seen what can happen when people receive treatment that works. My belief in recovery is personal, too: I’m a trauma survivor who recovered from PTSD through evidence-based treatment. Those experiences—both professional and personal—are why I believe so strongly that recovery is possible.

SPECIALIZED CARE

Therapy isn’t just about feeling better in session. It’s about getting your life back.

THE PROCESS

Understand the Whole Picture

We begin with a comprehensive clinical evaluation. I want to understand your symptoms, history, relationships, strengths, current stressors, and what matters most to you—not just arrive at a diagnosis. When useful, we'll use standardized measures to clarify what you're experiencing and establish a baseline for progress.

01

Build a Plan That Fits You

Evidence-based doesn't mean cookie-cutter. We'll decide together what you want to change and choose an approach that makes sense for you. I bring the clinical expertise and research; you bring expertise in your own life. Treatment should have direction while remaining flexible enough to respond to what you need.

02

Do the Work. Pay Attention to What Works.

Therapy with me is active and collaborative. We'll work toward your goals, track what's changing, and adjust when something isn't helping. Evidence guides our work, but your needs, experiences, and goals shape how we do it.

03

You don't have to spend years in therapy to see meaningful change.

Effective therapy should help you get more of your life back—less controlled by symptoms, old patterns, overwhelming emotions, or what happened in the past.

The goal isn't to keep you in therapy. It's to help you get better and move forward.
